THE PROCESS
— Story
Every commission begins with a story.
Memories, symbols, inspirations, colour preferences, and references are shared to help shape the direction of the work. This initial stage forms the conceptual foundation of the piece.
— Research & Design
Based on the information provided, the research and design developments begins.
During this stage, the visual language, composition, symbolic elements, material approach, and overall direction of the work are explored and defined.
— Design Proposal
A bespoke design proposal is prepared and shared through sketches and visual references.
The composition, ceramic elements, colour palette, and overall aesthetic direction of the work are presented for review.
— Material Selection
Materials are carefully selected according to the character and requirements of the design.
Depending on the project, stoneware ceramics, natural stones, metal details, pigments, and surface treatments may be incorporated to support the narrative and visual language of the piece.
— Production
Once approved, the making process begins.
Each work is individually handcrafted in the Luftmensch studio through shaping, drying, firing, surface treatments, and final assembly.
Every stage is approached with the understanding that subtle variations are part of the uniqueness of handmade work.
— Approval & Delivery
Upon completion, the final work is shared for approval.
Once approved, the piece is carefully packaged and prepared for collection or delivery.
The remaining balance must be completed before the artwork is released.
Production timelines typically range between 2–4 weeks depending on the complexity of the commission.
